Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead

Well, now they’ve gone and done it.  They’ve gone and whacked Osama bin Laden.

First, my hat is off the Seal Team 6.  Take a bow, gentlemen.

Kudos also to all those involved in the intelligence gathering over time to make sure we got this one right.  Can you imagine the political quagmire if we’d gone in there and whacked the wrong folks?  My God… for a moment there I was almost wishing that were actually the case…  if for no other reason than to see the egg on the Obama Admin’s face if that were to have really happened.  But, it didn’t, and life goes on.

So, where does bin Laden’s demise leave us now?  Some ideas, in no particular order:

  1. This is the brick in the wall that might help get Obama re-elected.  After all, something positive actually got done on his watch, and nobody else can take credit for it.  Can you say 4 more years of gloating?  Just kill me now.
  2. We can now focus more assets on going after scumbags like Ayman al Zawahiri and Anwar al Awlaki.  These guys need to be squashed like the bugs they are.  With Gen. David Petraeus slated to become the new CIA Director, this could actually happen.
  3. We need to find out the how and why bin Laden was permitted to hide in plain site in Pakistan.  ABC News has an exclusive video of the inside of the building where the firefight took place.  The house was built in 2005, was clearly built to protect its occupants and is supposedly just blocks from a major Pakistani Army installation.  Riddle me this, Batman:  How in the Hell can anybody in the Pakistani Government say they had no clue he was there?  The whole thing stinks, and we can smell it all the way in Sunny Southern California.

That’s all I have time for today.  God Bless You, and God Bless America!
